Exploration undertaken principally to search for possible buried Palaeoproterozoic iron oxide - associated copper-gold (IOCG) deposits within concealed bedrock, mostly within the north-western portion of the Pinkawillinie Conservation Park, comprised the acquisition during November 1994 and interpretation of part of an airborne magnetic/radiometric/DTM survey flown at 250 m line spacing and 60 m sensor elevation, and later on, of ground gravity, ground magnetic, IP and TEM surveys, plus the conduct of limited 1:10,000 scale geological mapping and reconnaissance soil geochemical sampling (38 samples assayed), and of scout RC bedrock drilling (25 inclined holes, total 1605 m). 180 new gravity stations were read by WMC on a 2 km x 2 km grid over the Empire prospect during January 1992. During April 1994, a further 168 semi-regional gravity stations were read at 1 km x 500 m spacing over the Monitor and Dragon prospects located within the conservation park. The RC drilling done at the latter two prospects revealed low level copper anomalism.
