Diamond exploration undertaken north-east of Marla, near Vernon Hill, comprised helimag and ground magnetic surveys plus drainage sampling. Magnetic sources were indicated at depths exceeding 200 m. One magnetic target was tested by a 117 m deep RC drillhole which bottomed in weakly magnetic metabasalt. No kimberlitic rocks or their indicator minerals were encountered, and surficial sediment assays returned no anomalous values.
