Diamond exploration undertaken in the Woomera area comprised an aeromagnetic / radiometric survey and gravel sampling. With the exception of three weak anomalies, all aeromagnetic features on checking were of cultural origin. A significant potassium / uranium radiometric anomaly was not supported by follow-up stream sediment and rock sampling, and recovered anomalous chromites in the drainage system were found to have been derived by weathering from Cretaceous sandstones. No microdiamonds or kimberlite indicator minerals were detected.
