A manganese-rich Adelaidean stratigraphic unit outcropping along the western flank of the Mount Remarkable Range, which returned 1.8% Co, 1.5% Cu and 1.0% Zn in a grab sample from the Willowie Cobalt prospect, warrants further work because it is potentially continuous for 6 km north to the Spring Creek Copper Mine and for 12 km south to the Melrose Mine. A previous explorer had drilled a vertical percussion hole to 51.8 m total depth, 8 m west of the adit at the Spring Creek copper mine, and drill cuttings from here had assayed 0.1-0.3% Co plus 0.06-1% Cu over the 12.2 m interval below 39.6 m depth. As part of a separate investigation, potentially diamondiferous lamproite, grading to minette composition, has been identified by petrography and geochemistry of samples taken from two tuff / breccia diatremes, respectively 20 ha and 50 ha in area, located near Bangor, west of Wirrabara. Elsewhere in the licence, a vesicular lava from near Gladstone, previously reported in 1964, has been inspected and noted as a typical diapir-associated basic igneous rock with no potential as a diamond host.
