Ongoing copper exploration in the Mount Gunson area was directed primarily at locating economic stratiform mineralisation in the Tapley Hill Formation, which overlies Pandurra Formation and the associated Cattlegrid orebody. New work comprised acquisition of CSAMT, gravity and ground magnetic surveys, RC drilling (877 holes, total 10,154 m), diamond drilling (49 holes, total 1834 m), and further metallurgical investigations of mineralised material from several previously identified prospects. An indicated resource of 1 Mt @ 1.5% Cu was outlined at the MG14 deposit. Flotation testing done on milled samples of ore from this orebody showed that a 15% Cu concentrate product could be achieved at >75% recovery from a 1.5% head grade, provided that the process water quality was maintained at <19000 ppm TDS. Groundwater and vegetation surveys were performed by contractors to guide the licensees' evaluation of the water supply, tailings disposal and environmental impact minimisation requirements of likely mining operations. Anomalous lead and zinc were intersected in the north-eastern part of the licence area around Elizabeth Creek (best assay values being 1.4% Zn and 0.21% Pb over a 2 m interval from 304 m depth). Basement drilling, to follow up both gravity / magnetic targets and Cu anomalies from earlier holes, intersected un-mineralised granite and Hutchison Group.
