TARGET: Possible open-pit mineable Lower Permian coal seams, present down to a depth of 100 m below surface, associated with an inferred basinal depression located to the north-west of and adjacent to previous SADM stratigraphic drillhole Karkaro 1, which contained thin coal stringers. EXPLORATION: Reconnaissance rotary drilling (4 holes totalling 345 m). RESULTS: No coal was encountered.
