Exploration was aimed at delineating favourable lithologies within Eromanga Basin sediments for hosting sedimentary uranium, which may have leached from the crystalline rocks of the Musgrave Ranges located to the west of the licence area. As part of a reconnaissance hydrochemical survey, 6 samples of groundwater were laboratory analysed for uranium, radon-222, radium-226, bicarbonates, sulphates, total dissolved solids and chemical oxygen demand. No anomalous radioactive elements were detected. Four vertical rotary mud stratigraphic holes totalling 548 m were drilled to test sediments lying near the basal Mesozoic unconformity, with collar sites based on geology interpreted from aerial photographs. All drill cuttings were radiometrically scanned, but again no radioactivity was detected. Because of the disappointing exploration results, the licence was surrendered.
