Results of a petrological and mineragraphic examination of several suites of mineralised samples, taken from within the lower and upper Callanna Beds around the southern margin of the Mount Painter Province. Interpretive comments are given about the genesis of primary and secondary copper mineralisation, in the context of the regional geology of the host stratigraphic units, with hypotheses being advanced on the likely distribution and abundance of copper mineralisation, and also on the related implications for future exploration concepts applied to this region.
