The report discusses the present viability of the envisaged land pipeline transportation of slurried Mount Christie magnetite ore from any mine to export facilities on the Great Australian Bight, where slurry dewatering and shiploading by normal conveyors would take place. Advice was sought from experienced existing users, particularly the owners of the Mount Goldsworthy mine in WA, about the potential use of the integrated pipeline ore transport system patented by Marcona Corp. of the USA, with samples being provided to them for testing. The resulting reply was unfavourable.
