As part of diamond exploration carried out in an area located approximately 8 miles east of Port Pirie, aeromagnetic anomalies noted from reviewing data of a previous survey acquired by Westchester Mining Corp. were investigated in the field. The majority of the anomalies were seen to correspond to old shallow prospecting pits that are predominantly located within now cultivated land having poor outcrop, and no mineralisation was observed remaining within them. A kimberlite dyke was located near Bangor and given scant preliminary evaluation for its diamond potential, and a nearby abandoned copper mine prospect was also assayed for copper, but nothing of interest was seen. Upon application for grant of a second term, the licencees were refused because of their hitherto unsatisfactory work performance.
