A gossanous bedrock outcrop present within Early Cambrian sediments of the central Fleurieu Peninsula, and situated 16 km north-east of Mount Compass township, was investigated as a possible Mississippi Valley - type (MVT) base metals target. Assaying of 4 rock chip geochemical samples yielded elevated Zn and Pb, but the area's MVT mineral prospectivity was downgraded by an absence of suitable carbonate host rocks.
