Mineralogical studies and BLEG geochemical analyses performed on three stream sediment samples taken from drainage valleys crossing the Dudley Peninsula on Kangaroo Island showed no kimberlitic indicator minerals or traces of alluvial gold. Prior image interpretation of regional airborne magnetic and radiometric survey data also failed to disclose any geophysical anomalies of interest.
