Reconnaissance geological mapping and limited surface geochemical sampling of exposed, thrust faulted quartz-carbonate veins evident in the Adelaidean cover sequence to the western Olary Domain Palaeoproterozoic basement did not generate any gold or base metal targets in the Nackara - Yunta - Olary area. Multiple thin reefs evident within old workings at the Wadnaminga Goldfield were considered to have only limited potential for a company-scale operation. Untested, possible Telfer - style gold mineralisation was recognised in a rheologically-controlled vein network within sandstones on a fold nose at Wheal Bassett, while stratiform gold occurrences were considered as likely in the Gum Creek area, since this setting has a similar stratigraphic and structural position to the Wadnaminga deposits within the Umberatana Group, but on the west-closing antiformal limb of the Wadnaminga anticline.
