Calcrete geochemical sampling conducted on the eastern and western sides of Lake Harris, 30 km south-west of Kingoonya, returned a number of low order anomalies peaking at 9 ppb Au. Two of three RAB holes (total 100 m) that were drilled south of Kokatha Homestead bottomed in Gawler Range Volcanics (GRV) below more than 40 m thickness of Mesozoic cover, and the third hole was terminated in GRV at 12 m depth. No anomalous assay results were returned. Genuine calcrete is scarce in the salt lakes and dunes which occur over much of the relinquished area.
