Ground magnetics and RC drilling (13 holes, total 2436 m) were carried out on three buried Proterozoic ?ironstone-skarn targets that had been identified around the margins of interpreted Hiltaba Suite granites, 80 km west of Coober Pedy, and which underlie >150 m thick Mesozoic and younger cover. Elevated metal intersections were confined to one occurrence, of 2 m @ 18 ppb Au and 1200 ppm Cu, from around 180 m depth in one hole. Magnetic responses were attributed to BIF-type mineralisation and not to hydrothermal alteration of the Olympic Dam style.
