Photogeological fracture analysis, Landsat interpretation and aerial geophysical data interpretation techniques have been concurrently applied to the problem of identifying deep-seated linear structures on the Stuart Shelf. Results of a consultant's reconnaissance investigation suggest that several predominantly NNW- and WNW-oriented tectonic feature correlations may be present in the area, which could denote structures that have episodically exerted control upon the localisation of base metal mineralisation in Carpentarian and Adelaidean sediments.
