Ground magnetic, EM and IP surveys were carried out in an area of interpreted anomalous aeromagnetic features located 20 km north of Mingary, targeting Cloncurry style, granitic basement-related Au-Cu in Willyama Group metasedimentary rocks. A 119 m deep percussion drillhole which included a 20 m diamond tail failed to encounter anomalous mineralisation. Petrological examination of the diamond drillcore attributed the elevated magnetic response to abundant magnetite occurring in haematite gneiss. Regional calcrete sampling returned only weak gold and base metal values. Inferred basement targets are covered by >100 m of Cainozoic sediments.
