The area now relinquished, which comprises 322 square km or 13.5% of the originally granted area, is the northern of two discrete licence sub-blocks located approximately 25 km south-east of Pimba. Scattered base metal geochemical anomalies found in calcrete that was sampled there were assigned a lower priority under Stuart Metals' exploration programme, owing to an interpreted excessive thickness of cover which would need firstly to be drilled in order to gain access to the prospective Tapley Hill and underlying Pandurra formations.
