6 out of 10 selected samples of drill core taken from the depth interval 157.13 to 177.88 metres KB in drillhole Byilkaoora 1 underwent rubidium - strontium geochronology to determine their age of deposition. The analytical results proved ambiguous, and at best may provide estimates only of the likely maximum and minimum age limits, which are 617 /- 138 Ma and 524 /- 68 Ma respectively.
