Kimberlite-seeking loam sampling and soil geochemistry, undertaken in the vicinity of 28 selected magnetic targets distributed within eight separate licence areas extending from 150 km west-northwest of to 120 km north of Oodnadatta, only yielded a single indicator mineral grain, although revealing several minor anomalies in possible kimberlite-derived elements. Detailed computer modelling of the original SAEI regional aeromagnetic data, however, concluded that the tested target dipolar features were probably small intrasedimentary bodies of lateritic origin.
