Exploration for stratiform - stratabound, Broken Hill type Ag-Pb-Zn mineralisation in the buried Lower Proterozoic basement to the Strathearn area, 60 km north of Olary, comprised aeromagnetic and gravity data interpretations, ground magnetic, Sirotem and IP surveys, petrology, RAB drilling (12 holes, total 997 m), one diamond hole (172 m), and rotary mud drilling (88 holes, total 5349 m). A yet-to-be publicised, detailed field investigation of anomalous Zn and low level Cu-Au intersections within Bimba Suite rocks underlying the EL 1352 area was subsequently carried out during the tenure of succeeding ELs 1751 and 2055, issued to the Olary Joint Venture partners over the same ground, and this still continues under EL 2720.
