Calcrete was sampled over the entire foot of Yorke Peninsula, approximately 200 km by road from Adelaide, to follow up aeromagnetic structures and anomalous base metals in groundwater. Several samples returned slightly elevated base metals, from locations marginal to NW-SE aligned aeromagnetic features, in areas of relatively thin Bridgewater Formation aeolianite cover. The metal values are associated with sparsely outcropping amphibolites and granitoids of the Lincoln Complex, and at one locality, with Permian glacial sediments. No significant targets were generated from an interpretation of recent TEISA aeromagnetic data.
