Exploration for possible economic metallic mineral products of hidden copper-gold deposit mineralising systems, which possibly were genetically related to fractionated, high crustal level emplaced Cambro-Ordovician intrusive rocks, is addressing an arcuate, 300 km long north-south and 50 km wide east-west segment of eastern South Australia extending between Bordertown, The Coorong, Murray Bridge, Morgan and Yunta. During the first year of the project, Normandy flew two small helimag surveys to confirm some selected drill targets. Following this, 22 vertical aircore holes (total 2697 m) and 14 diamond-tailed vertical rotary mud holes (total 2140.2 m) were drilled at various locations on the project tenements to target discrete magnetic highs and possible alteration zones in the vicinity of Delamerian granites. This drilling encountered Truro Volcanics equivalents plus gabbros, granites and metasediments, but no evidence of the former existence of large alteration or mineralisation systems was discerned by making petrological microscopic examinations of drillhole cuttings and core samples.
