Investigations conducted 30 km north-east of Quorn were directed at locating possible Mississippi Valley - style base metal mineralisation, and at following up previous reports of discovered microdiamonds and kimberlite indicator minerals. Initial work comprised aeromagnetic interpretation, gravity, seismic, ground magnetic and resistivity surveys, and soil and groundwater geochemistry. Heavy mineral analysis of one stream sediment sample returned traces of kimberlitic indicators. Geochemical sampling at Radford Creek returned low level Cu, Pb, Zn, Au and rare earth values, and petrological work suggested causative hydrothermal activity in association with an intrusive body. In November 1995, lode mapping plus inclined and vertical RC drilling (16 holes, total 265 m) and trenching (17 costeans extending for 190 m) were carried out at the Radford Creek historic mining prospect. A small copper carbonate resource of average grade 1.25% Cu has since then been secured under a retention lease.
