Features interpreted from detailed low-level infill airborne coverage to a 1995 SAEI aeromagnetic survey, flown over a large area of disturbed, mainly Adelaidean sedimentary diapiric terrain located between Hawker and the south-eastern shore of Lake Torrens, were investigated by orientation surface sediment geochemistry and rotary/RC drilling (25 holes, total 3357 m). Mafic volcanic rocks and massive magnetite representing xenoliths within calcareous diapiric rocks were intersected, with soil samples returning up to 0.2% Cu and weakly anomalous Au. Thirteen of the drillholes were abandoned above basement, seven at final depths exceeding 100 m. Exploration in the latter stages comprised only land access negotiations and a re-assessment of unexplained magnetic features.
