Menninnie Dam - style Pb-Zn mineralisation in areas north and east of Lake Gilles was the initial target of exploration. A ground magnetic survey conducted along five lines was followed by shallow auger drilling (302 holes, total 1099 m) plus lag, BLEG and orientation soil geochemical sampling. Targets were defined at Wartaka and Morgans, and investigated by detailed ground magnetic surveying, soil and rock chip geochemical sampling, and RAB drilling to sampled covered bedrock (172 holes, total 3660 m). Follow-up RC drilling at Morgans, Morgans East and Wartaka (7 holes, total 946 m) returned minor Ag-Zn mineralisation, with minor Pb and low Cu. New work undertaken at Uno and Wartaka East included detailed soil geochemical sampling plus acquisition of limited ground magnetic and IP surveys. RAB drilling (37 holes, total 1630 m) returned weakly elevated base metal values (the best being 30 m @ 0.25% Pb, and 40 m @ 0.26% Zn). Three diamond drillholes for 502 m total penetration gave similarly modest results, as did an extensive programme of rock chip geochemical sampling. Following the negotiation of a joint venture with Grenfell Resources NL, the emphasis of exploration changed to seeking gold, with calcrete geochemical sampling being undertaken over the entire licence area. Regional sampling at 800 m x 800 m centres defined four anomalous areas in the northern part of the EL, which were then infill sampled at 200 m x 200 m and 100 m x 50 m spacing. Presently, follow-up investigations are continuing over a reduced licence area.
