A partial relinquishment of EL 2635 has entailed the release of all data from the Luxembourg mine - Dey Hill area, located approximately 25 km south of Cutana, where magnetic, gravity and IP anomalies and possible strike extensions to known base metal mineralisation were investigated over the period 1986-1994. Initial geological mapping, together with rock chip, mine dump, drill core and stream sediment sampling outlined an area of anomalous Au along the McDonald Fault Zone, centred on the Luxembourg mine. A ground magnetic survey, followed by RAB and percussion drilling (80 holes, total 1426 m), returned anomalous Au at the Green And Gold prospect, peaking at 0.84 g/t over 6 m from 15 m. RAB drilling of additional ground magnetic targets in the Dey Hill - Ballara area (377 holes, total 5947 m) intersected only elevated to slightly anomalous Zn and Pb plus low Au values. Further work comprised regional mapping and TEM, gravity, soil gas, IP and high frequency photolineament surveys, the latter identifying regional scale, intersecting WNW/NNE lineaments. Gravity and IP anomalies near the Ballara zinc prospect were tested with single diamond (437 m) and RC (120 m) drillholes. Intersections peaking at 4 m from 93 m @ 204 ppm Cu, 1665 Pb and 6184 Zn, with trace pyrrhotite and Au, were returned from gneissic staurolite-garnet schist. The IP source was not located.
