Following a literature review of the mode of occurrence, field relationships, matrix mineralogy and geochemistry of Terowie - type kimberlite intrusions, the lease operator undertook large scale costeaning and bulk sampling of four kimberlites in that area. Field-based heavy media separation of approximately 1100 tonnes of Pine Creek kimberlite, treated through a purpose-built mobile plant, and laboratory microscopic inspection of resulting heavy mineral concentrates, failed to disclose any diamonds. Further work on the remaining kimberlite samples was abandoned.
