Regional calcrete geochemical sampling was carried out in the Mutooroo - Anabama area in a search for precious and base metals. Initial surface calcrete sampling at several prospects was followed by auger drill sampling to depths up to 2 m on an offset ~1 km grid, with some infill to 500 m. Several single sample anomalies up to 6 ppb Au were followed up by collection of further samples within several hundred metres of the anomalous point, which returned only background values. Limited BLEG stream sediment sampling gave results up to 5.4 ppb Au. The potential of the area to host heavy mineral sands was evaluated by air photo interpretation and examination of cuttings from past drilling.
