Trial Rapid Magnetic Induced Polarization field surveys were commissioned by Mines and Energy South Australia over various historic and newly discovered volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) base metal deposits within the State, to gauge the actual effectiveness of the method for remote definition of lode depth and dimensions. Results obtained were equivocal and are seen as disappointing in terms of being a useful step forward in low cost, electromagnetic-based geophysical prospecting methodology.
