A review of available previous exploration data was carried out for an area centred 60 km south of Olary, which was regarded as prospective for stratiform Pb-Zn-Ag deposits of Broken Hill style, and also for iron oxide -associated copper-gold (IOCG) mineralisation associated with Hiltaba Suite plutonism. Existing calcrete and RAB drillhole geochemical sampling datasets contained weakly elevated Cu, Au and Zn values that appeared to show some spatial affinity with linear aeromagnetic features, but such anomalies were assigned a relatively low priority for follow-up drilling when weighed against the potential of targets that had been identified within Grenfell's competing ground on the Gawler Craton.
