Exploration for base and precious metal mineralisation within Neoproterozoic metasediments outcropping 20 km east-northeast of Orroroo has highlighted the significant controlling influence of intense alteration genetically related to regional mafic and felsic magmatism. Geological mapping and geophysical interpretation failed to locate evidence of such hydrothermal activity in the area relinquished.
