Proterozoic and Archaean rocks of the Gawler Craton were the target hosts for possible gold and base metal mineralisation in an area of elevated gravity response located just north of the Karari Fault Zone portion that lies within the Tallaringa Conservation Park, west of Coober Pedy. Following an assessment of previous geological and geophysical data, 318 calcrete samples were collected on a 1 km x 1 km regional grid in an initial auger-based programme, and several localities exhibiting anomalous gold values were defined. A follow-up infill auger programme of 247 samples on 500 m x 500 m grids confirmed gold anomalies of up to 18 ppb Au. No further work was carried out prior to licence expiry, due to the focus of exploration shifting to Goldsearch's nearby EL 2212.
