Sedimentary uranium orebodies within Tertiary palaeochannels were the target of exploration in the area of the Siccus River, south of Lake Frome. Extensive research into available open file past exploration data allowed the identification of both prospective palaeochannels and non-prospective sequences, and on this basis the areas held under licence have been periodically reduced (refer to partial relinquishment reports in Envs 9402 and 9565). However, unresolved Native Title issues have precluded land access for any field investigations, so the area's prospectivity remains untested.
