Work carried out during the final stages of the investigation consisted of diamond and percussion drilling (3 inclined and 11 vertical holes respectively, totalling 4107 and 1122 feet), plus shallow shaft sinking (16 shafts totalling 483 feet) for the extraction of 350 tons of copper ore parcels to use in metallurgical processing tests. The results of these tests were disappointing to the joint venture partners, who then decided to surrender their mineral claims and Authorities to Enter on private lands : these exploration rights were subsequently transferred by the SA Department of Mines to a separate and waiting investment group, Samin Ltd, on 15/10/1969.
