Details of the environment of the proposed mining area are set out in this report. The active impact zone will have an area of approximately 130 ha and is the area on which there will be construction, excavation, stockpiles, waste dumps, living quarters and movement of people and machinery. The mine will be situated more than 10 km away from the nearest habitation (a pastoral property homestead) and is also remote from any area of scenic attraction. In general, the impacts of the intended operation on the local visual amenity and on vegetation and native animal life are expected to be minimal.
