The targets of exploration in the Mt Toodla area, located 50 km south-east of Oodnadatta, were Olympic Dam style Cu-Au-U-REE and Candelaria style Fe-oxide Cu-Au mineralisation in Palaeoproterozoic and Mesoproterozoic metamorphic basement with less than 200 m of cover. Work programmes in the surrendered portion of the licence consisted of image processing, geological and structural evaluations, and interpretation of available geophysical data. The area displays little character in the regional gravity and magnetics, with no evidence of anomalous basement features indicative of the targets sought, and with younger sediments generally exceeding 200 m in thickness.
