Regional and site-specific geological and hydrological factors are discussed, and a groundwater model is proposed for the Honeymoon uranium deposit, based on the results of the HC 9 drilling and testing programme, and on other existing data. A detailed analysis of the pumping tests is carried out, and the derived and assumed parameters are applied to proposed isolated 5-spot [aqueous leachant injection and recovery wells'] pattern operations. Aquifer responses to injection and extraction, under certain sets of conditions, are calculated using the "de Glee" method. The manually-derived values are compared with the computer-generated results produced by a groundwater consultant. The components of fluid flow, derived from aquifer responses and the Darcy equation for fluid flow, are quantified and the implications discussed. Preliminary consideration of some possible remedial measures in the field of groundwater management, with respect to minimising [acidised leachant] fluid loss and dilution, is given.
