Possible buried Ernest Henry / Olympic Dam style Cu-Au mineralisation hosted by Mesoproterozoic Gawler Range Volcanics and Hiltaba Suite granites was the target of exploration in an area immediately south of Lake Everard. Regional calcrete, soil, rock chip and stream sediment geochemical sampling identified several significant Cu-Au targets. Infill sampling defined the Apostle North prospect, with gold values peaking at 12 ppb Au. But subsequent exploratory aircore drilling done by North Mining late in 1999 to sample the bedrock (23 holes, 475 m) did not encounter significant mineralisation there [ Note - no said drillhole data has been submitted to PIRSA by either Equinox or North ], and so the licence was surrendered in February 2001.
