Two areas which lie adjacent to and are situated respectively south and north from Olympic Dam, are considered very prospective for iron-oxide copper-gold (IOCG) mineralisation of Olympic Dam style. While historic drilling intercepts have shown that the top of basement here lies at between 750-1000 m depth, a re-evaluation of open file geophysical data has highlighted several untested gravity anomalies associated with magnetic complexes. Infill 1 km x 1 km gravity surveys were run over these anomalies, which, after data modelling, have identified three high priority targets for drilling, as well as numerous lower priority targets. No significant gravity anomalies, however, were identified in the relinquished areas.
