Regional scale interpretation of available data highlighted the presence of a gravity anomaly at the intersection of magnetic lineaments in the Mt Ive Gate area, 60 km north of Kimba, in a region considered to be prospective for iron oxide related Cu-Au mineralisation. A detailed gravity survey was run which confirmed a 6 mGal anomaly, while further testing by proprietary method MIMDAS IP/MT (induced polarisation/magnetotelluric) surveys revealed several highly chargeable and conductive anomalies partially coincident with the gravity anomaly. Each of four chargeable anomalies was tested by a single reverse circulation drillhole (4 holes, total 522 m), all of which intersected pyritic metasediments or pyritic amphibolite/hornfels, interpreted as part of the Middleback Subgroup. The work did not conclusively suggest the presence beneath the surface of a substantial body of mineralisation.
