Mafic and ultramafic rocks of the Giles Complex, which intrude highly metamorphosed units of the Musgrave Block in an area 130 km north-west of Marla, were considered to have high potential to host base metal and precious metal mineralisation. Initial work entailing local soil sampling was followed by a detailed aeromagnetic-radiometric survey over the entire licence area, which resulted in the definition of several magnetic and radiometric anomalies. Follow-up calcrete and rock chip sampling did not return any significant results, and efforts to attract a joint venture partner were not successful.
