Interpretation of aerial photographs revealed a paralic salt lake adjacent to the Coorong National Park near Kingston (South-East), in an area of land that was about to be sterilised for allowing ongoing mineral exploration, due to the provisions of the Murray River Act 2003. However, the licensee was aware that cores he had recovered from 2 previously completed exploratory push-tube holes, which had sampled Recent lacustrine sediments in the now affected area when it was part of his earlier-held EL 1891 and later the subject EL, did not encounter significant carbonates or other evaporite minerals. The prospectivity of this piece of ground had thus been downgraded, and so it was accordingly relinquished.
