An area located immediately east of Lake Frome was considered to be prospective for iron-oxide associated copper - gold - rare earth element (IOCG-REE) mineralisation of Olympic Dam style formed within concealed Mid-Proterozoic granitic basement. Exploration was progressed initially by a consultant's interpretation and modelling of available gravity and aeromagnetic data, resulting in the definition of two prospective magnetic anomalies which were followed-up by ground gravity surveys and a single ground magnetic survey line. However, no identifiable coincident gravity anomalies were seen to be accompanying the magnetic anomalies, and the local depths to basement were indicated at > 400 m.
