Iron oxide copper-gold mineralisation associated with Hutchison Group sediments was the target of exploration in the Karkarook area, 60 km west of Cowell. Calcrete sampling in a small part of the surrendered area (13 samples), searching for extensions to a multi-element geochemical anomaly previously defined outside and to the north of EL 2550, returned values of < 2 ppb Au and only background base metals.
