The area lying immediately south of lakes Gairdner and Harris was considered prospective for concealed Olympic Dam style Cu-Au mineralisation hosted in Archaean to Mesoproterozoic basement rocks of the Gawler Craton. Acquisition of a regional 1 km x 1 km station spacing ground gravity survey defined a circular, 1.4 mGal gravity high associated with a magnetic low. Regional calcrete geochemical sampling performed on a 1 km grid returned 5 samples with >5 ppb Au, and infill sampling confirmed a moderately robust low order anomaly along the southern edge of the magnetic/gravity anomaly. Two lines of RAB drilling (27 holes, 747 m) encountered rhyolitic tuffs of the Gawler Range Volcanics, and returned a maximum drill cuttings sample assay value of 18 ppb Au.
