Numerous base metal occurrences and historic mines occur in the Mt Lyndhurst area, hosted mainly in Neoproterozoic rocks of the Adelaide Geosyncline. Investigations at several prospects have included detailed mapping plus soil and rock chip sampling. While several individual samples returned high Cu, Zn and Pb values, the general style and tenor of mineralisation were considered not sufficiently encouraging to warrant further work.
