Prospecting, mapping and rock sampling were completed to assess the potential for Mount Gunson - type stratabound copper occurrences within folded Upper Proterozoic arkosic-calcareous arenites that overlie intermediate-basic volcanic rocks. Stratabound copper mineralization occurs in arkosic siltstones at Robinsons mine, where faulting and diapirism have mobilized and concentrated weak syngenetic copper mineralization. However, in the Depot Creek area generally the base metal content of both the sedimentary and volcanic rocks appears to be uniformly low. Copper mineralization within the Depot Creek Volcanics occurs either in shear zones or quartz veins.
