Exploration for possible concealed porphyry style Cu-Au deposits of a kind similar to the nearby Blue Rose prospect surface skarn occurrence was undertaken over an area of the eastern Nackara Arc, 50 km south-east of Yunta. Work comprised inspection of historic shallow mine workings, plus limited drainage, BLEG and rock chip sampling, PIMA studies of the latter samples, Aster image interpretation, and reconnaissance geological mapping. No geochemical anomalies were detected, partly as a result of the less-than-ideal stream sediment sampling conditions in poorly defined drainage channels: therefore, using a better suited, soil-based method of geochemical coverage of the predominantly colluvium-shrouded terrain is recommended.
