Two licence areas, respectively located 50 km east-northeast and 30 km south of the recent Prominent Hill iron oxide - associated copper-gold discovery, were investigated for possible additional deposits of that type. After carrying out initial office-based studies of available geophysical, Landsat and drillhole data, a ground gravity survey (1899 stations on a 500 m x 500 m grid) was acquired over EL 2904, and shortly afterwards a second ground gravity survey (233 stations on a 1 km x 2 km grid, part of a regional coverage funded by the SA State Government's TEiSA programme) was completed over EL 2954 during May 2002. Image processing and interpretation of the new gravity data, combined with outputs of similar work performed on open file aeromagnetic data, failed to identify any suitable Prominent Hill-type mineralisation targets for drill testing, and both exploration licences were allowed to expire.
